Latest Updates from Our Project:

Sep 8 - Still On Schedule! Pledge Manager Deadline Extended To Sept 30th
over 1 year ago – Fri, Sep 09, 2022 at 11:00:10 PM

TL;DR: No major news to report. We've extended the BackerKit survey lockdown date to September 30, to allow people additional time for any last minute shipping address updates that may be needed.

Not a lot to report in this update - which is always good news, at this stage of a Kickstarter!

We've decided to extend the lockdown date on the pledge manager until September 30th, to allow backers an additional month to make any last minute updates to their shipping addresses that may be required. Surveys completed after September 30th may be subject to delays, limited product availability, etc.

If you lost your survey link or did not receive one, you should be able to retrieve it by checking at BackerKit. If you have any issues with the survey, please email [email protected].

You can still place a late pledge HERE... for a limited time!

New orders placed in the pledge manager will be considered "Late Pledges" and will only have access to the Santa v Krampus Battle Box & The Gift Pack pledge levels while supplies last. The pledge manager closes on September 30th for both backers and late pledgers. Late pledges will be shipped after backer shipments.

We're happy to report that we're still on schedule for this project - but that some of you have not yet filled out your pledge manager surveys! Please do so as soon as possible, as the pledge manager is scheduled to close on August 31st at noon Pacific Standard time. Surveys completed after that date may be subject to delays, limited product availability, etc.

If you lost your survey link or did not receive one, you should be able to retrieve it by checking at BackerKit. If you have any issues with the survey, please email [email protected].

We can't show you the whole present yet - but we can show you the wrapping paper! Here's a look at what the back of the box is going to look like, as well as a look at Manny's Santa v Krampus artwork that will be featured inside it:

Pledge Manager Shipping Fixes & FAQs
over 1 year ago – Thu, Aug 04, 2022 at 06:57:46 AM

TL;DR: BackerKit surveys are out. A fix has already been implemented that should reduce unexpected add-on shipping costs for some backers. Our team is at Gen Con this weekend; please expect delays in customer service.

Greetings, Throners!

As you know, the pledge manager surveys have gone out this week! Thank you to all of you who have already filled them out, and who have been helping each other resolve questions and issues here in the comments. A number of common questions have been popping up, so we’re going to do our best to address them for you. But first, the big news:

The Add-On Shipping Fix!

Due to a glitch in setup, BackerKit was not properly charging the shipping prices for some add-ons for some customers. We believe this has been fixed, so those of you who ran into unexpectedly high costs should see the problem resolved if you check your pledge at BackerKit.

If you have an issue that isn’t covered by this or by the FAQ below, email us at [email protected]. Please be aware, however, that many of the Dice Throne team is currently en route to Gen Con. Our Roxley partners are helping out, but we are expecting delays in customer service. Thank you for bearing with us.

For the fastest possible service, please include all of the following when messaging us:

  •  Your full first and last name
  •  Your preferred email address (plus your Kickstarter email address, if it is different)
  •  Your Kickstarter name/handle, if it doesn’t obviously match your name and email address
  •  Your complete shipping address, if your question pertains to this
  •  Your desired pledge level and add-ons, if your question is about changing these
  •  If you’re running into any technical issues, a screenshot is always appreciated.
  •  PLEASE NOTE that our email system organizes messages so that the oldest emails are answered first, and that sending us a second message bumps you back to being the “newest” message (and thus to the back of the queue for service priority). Messaging repeatedly can cause additional delays, so please only do so when necessary.
  • We are unable to conduct customer service efficiently via social media, the comments section, in person at Gen Con, or via carrier pigeon. Please use [email protected] for all such inquiries.

Q. I’m being charged $1000 shipping! What gives?

A. This is the “default” shipping amount in the campaign before you enter your address, so until BackerKit knows where you live, it doesn’t know what to correct this amount to. Filling in your shipping address should cure the problem. Please email [email protected] if it does not. (Plus, reindeer delivery isn’t cheap that close to Christmas. What did you expect?)

Q. I can’t find an add-on I wanted in the pledge manager!

A. The answer to this one is unfortunately “mixed”, as some items may have run out of available stock. We can confirm that licensed product and non-Dice Throne games (e.g. Brass, Santorini, Steampunk Rally) are not available and cannot be added to the pledge manager. If there was something else you expected to see and it isn’t there, we may or may not be able to add it for you – please email [email protected] with the details of your request.

Q. How long do I have to fill this out?

A. Please have your survey filled out completely by the end of August. Surveys completed after that date may be subject to delays, limited product availability, etc.

If your question is not listed, please email us with the details, and we'll help you out.

If you're at Gen Con this year, the Dice Throne and Roxley teams will be at booth 2422A to show off Santa v Krampus, Marvel Dice Throne, Skyrise, Radlands, and a bunch of other goodies. We'd love to see you there!

You can still place a late pledge HERE!

New orders placed in the pledge manager will be considered "Late Pledges" and will only have access to the Santa v Krampus Battle Box & The Gift Pack pledge levels while supplies last. The pledge manager closes on August 31 for both backers and late pledgers. Late pledges will be shipped after backer shipments.

Thank You For 14 Wonderful, Joyous Days of Christmas in July!
almost 2 years ago – Tue, Jul 26, 2022 at 12:16:11 PM

TL;DR: Thank you all, so very, very much. Kickstarter will now collect your pledges; any payment issues will be resolved by them for the next few days, after which we will take over. Our goal is to have pledge manager surveys out to you by August 1st.

Merry Dice Throne Christmas, Everybody!

Firstly, our thanks go out to you, our backers and supporters, for believing in this project and helping us to make it a reality. Santa v. Krampus started out as a small idea and grew into what it is today thanks to your support and enthusiasm. None of this could have happened without you!

December, 2017: an idea is born.

We are especially grateful to those members of the community who have been with us along the journey, answering questions for other backers.

And of course, our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation go out to everyone on the Dice Throne and Roxley teams for all the amazing work that has gone into creating this game and bringing it to Kickstarter and will go into bringing it soon to your tables.

Thank you all.

Kickstarter Payment Processing

Kickstarter will bill your pledge to the credit card associated with your Kickstarter account. If there are any issues, they will automatically try to resolve them for several days; this process takes care of itself in most cases, but if you have something special that needs to be asked or addressed, you can try to reach their support department if necessary at support (at) kickstarter.com.

NOTE: our team does not have access to their payment and support portal during this time. We'll be happy to support you with any issues you have, but it will have to wait until they are finished and export the backer list to us.

The Pledge Manager

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be finalizing and testing the pledge manager. (Once we have this setup, we can start assisting backers with any issues Kickstarter could not resolve.)

When this is finished (target date: August 1st), you'll be sent a survey link from BackerKit; in that survey, you'll have the option to confirm your pledge, upgrade, add additional copies, provide your shipping address, and take care of shipping.

Ongoing Updates

As with our other Kickstarter projects, we want to keep our supporters up to date with all the news, so we will be publishing continuing updates until the games have been fulfilled (even if there's sometimes no real news to report, we still want to stay in touch; it's what we would prefer in your shoes).

With the final backer count at 11,628, Dice Throne pledged to donate $11,628 of non-Kickstarter money directly to Save the Children (not using any funds from this campaign). After discussing it with the team, we have decided to round this up to an even $12,000 ($1,000 for each of the traditional 12 days of Christmas).

As mentioned before, Save the Children has a proven track record of providing the necessary care to children in emergency situations and helping families and individuals rebuild lives. We are so excited to be able to be a part of this mission, and we thank you so much for supporting us in doing this!

For additional information or to find out how to make your own contribution, visit Save The Children online.

FINAL DAY! Synth Rejects! See The Metal Dice! BGG Battle, Promos, & A Semi-Coop Comic!
almost 2 years ago – Thu, Jul 21, 2022 at 10:28:29 AM

FINAL DAY! The Rejects will now be made of high-quality Synth™ (see details below). Video of the metal dice in action. The BGG Battle continues. More promo closeups. Love from, and to, Semi Coop for their webcomic!

We're Feeling The Love From Semi-Coop!

Semi-Coop is a wonderful webcomic themed around board games, created by Rachel Kremer & Heinze Havinga - and we just had to share their take on Santa, Krampus, & The Rejects (and everyone's favorite Shadow Thief)! They've shouted out Dice Throne, Santorini, and Steampunk Rally in the past, so we're happy to share the love back to them now! To see their entire archive and find out more about the project they're working on now, visit www.semicoop.com, and tell them Dice Throne sent you!

No, I'm not jesting, and don't call me Shirley.
(Bill Murray miniature sold separately)
Now with 33% more Fates than Santorini!
We're going to need flour. Lots and lots of flour.

Announcing: The Synth™ Rejects!

(also the name of our new 1980s retrowave band)

Life's tough when you're a Reject - but fortunately, so are you!

With their unique role in gameplay, the Rejects would be expected to go through a lot more than the average card is expected to bear. It's really not fair, when you think about it - and not at all in the Christmas spirit. So to give the Rejects a break, we're upgrading them to highly durable Synth™!

If you've played Loki in Marvel Dice Throne or played Roxley's game Radlands, you've seen these cards in play! Synth™ is a custom-manufactured PVC-based stock sourced by the Roxley team, which not only feels fantastic in your hand, is completely water- and spill-proof, and allows cards to be bent end to end while returning to their original form without damage.

(Synth™ cards do not require card sleeves, but will fit inside them should players prefer to sleeve them for aesthetic reasons.)

Let's See Those Metal Dice In Action!

On the Eleventh Day of Dice Throne Christmas, the Battle Was Nearly Done...

He rolled 6, 6, 5, 4, and 1!

The battle is reaching its climax at Board Game Geek! is it time for Santa to go for a decisive victory and try for his Ultimate attack, Comfort And Joy? The votes are already stacking up, so it's time to add yours:
What should Santa's next move be?

CLICK HERE for a recap of the battle so far and to help decide the fate of Christmas!

We'll be back after the project is over with another update about what to expect next!
