Dice Tray Video! Promo Reveals, Colored Trays, BGG Poll, & Board Game Revolution Video @ 3:30 EST!
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Jul 16, 2022 at 12:54:56 AM

Visuals and details for the Velvet Dice Tray, the "other" cards in the Promo Pack, the colored Hero Trays, and the newest revealed promos. The battle at BoardGameGeek continues - vote now! Join us today at Board Game Revolution (3:30 EST / 12:30 PST).
A Sneak Attacking Barbarian is a frightening thing to imagine.
You better Shake, Rattle, and Roll those dice, cause if you can't Return To Sender *this* minion's greatest hits, you're in for a Blue Christmas.
Whoops - you weren't supposed to see these before we gift wrapped them!
The Hero Randomizers, the standard promos, and the Mythic promos!

The "Other" Promos

A handful of commenters have asked - do they still want the Santa v. Krampus promo pack, if they don't have Dice Throne Adventures and aren't planning to get it?

The answer is: what is this craziness? NOT adding Dice Throne Adventures?!? Of COURSE they should add it, who wouldn't, it's the most amazing thing since... *ahem*. (Please pardon that. Paul can get a little... passionate, sometimes.)

The answer is: we totally get it, some people love battling more than dungeon crawling. But the great news is, we've got goodies for you too - nobody's getting left out this Christmas! In addition to the Loot & Minion cards, three additional pairs of promotional cards will be included (to harmonize with promos available for other Dice Throne characters):

Hero Randomizers: These cards can be combined with the randomizers from all other seasons to randomize characters before play.

Hero Promos: Krusty Krampus and Rebel Without A Claus can be added directly into the Hero decks for Krampus & Santa respectively without affecting game balance in any negative way, regardless of your mode of play (or whether or not your opponent also has them).

Mythic Abilities: These optional cards may be used to add even more power, flavor, and excitement to regular Dice Throne battles (or may be used as an optional powerup, should one player need a handicap).

The Velvet Dice Tray

For those of you who asked for a better look at these, here's a closeup of Aaron assembling the prototype. The magnets make these a dream to use - as you can see, there's no fussing with snaps or fasteners of any kind. Everything just snaps satisfyingly into place!

These also fit inside any of our Battle Chests for convenient storage and transportation (similarly to our previous dice trays). Here's Aaron demonstrating:

The Velvet Dice Trays are included automatically at the The Whole Sleigh! pledge level, and are available as an add-on for all pledges of at least the Santa v Krampus Battle Box. (After fulfillment, a limited number may be available directly from us at dicethrone.com and at conventions.)

On The Eighth Day Of Dice Throne Christmas, Krampus Gave To Me:

A 6, 5, 5, 4, and 3!

The battle continues on Board Game Geek! Krampus has a small straight already - or could just gain 3 gifts with Scavenge. But he's down to only 18 Health - and he does have Wormy. Should he stick with the safety of a guaranteed roll or go for something bigger?
What should Krampus' next move be?

We'll be back soon with another update. Have a great weekend!

Game Overview w/ Board Game Revolution! A Closer Look At The Standees
almost 2 years ago – Fri, Jul 15, 2022 at 12:57:37 AM

Check out our game overview tomorrow with Board Game Revolution, at 3PM EST / noon PST. Our battle on BoardGameGeek continues! A closer look at Santa & Krampus' standees.
Click here for an alert when the video goes live!

Join us tomorrow at 3 PM EST/noon PST, when our very own Kira joins Thomas from Board Game Revolution for a game overview!

Did you miss the live stream with Board Game Spotlight? If so, you can see the replay here.

He wasn't the winner of the Strongest Minion competition, but he did get an Abominable Mention.
Some nice, warm mittens for our freezing Heroes. How thoughtful!

On The Seventh Day Of Dice Throne Christmas, Santa Gave To Me:

A 6, 6, 4, 5, and 3!

The battle continues on Board Game Geek! After hitting Krampus with a huge Reindeer Games (Large Straight), but then receiving 8 undefendable from Krampus' Bad Tidings, both combatants are hurting. Santa begins his next turn with two sixes on his first roll - is this the time to risk his small straight and instead go for an Ultimate?
What should Santa's next move be?

CLICK HERE for a recap of the battle so far, and to help decide the fate of Christmas!

Let's see how well these two stand up against the Mad King!

Several of you have asked us for a better look at the standees - so here they are!

For those new to the game, these standees aren't used in standard Dice Throne games but may be used to play these characters in Dice Throne Adventures (using plastic standee bases from DTA), if you do not have access to the Santa / Krampus miniatures.

These cardboard standees will be automatically included at no additional charge in all Santa / Krampus punchboards. (Dice Throne Adventures is included in both the Gameplay Pack and The Whole Sleigh pledge levels, and is also available as an add-on to your pledge.)

We'll be back soon with another update.

(Also the name of Paul's new rap persona)
We often have to be vague when talking about upcoming products, so we're glad that this time, we can give you some more detailed specs.

On The Fifth Day Of Dice Throne Christmas, Santa Gave To Me:

How are we going to rhyme this if one of them doesn't roll a 3?

Two 4s, two 2s, and a 3!

The battle continued fiercely over the weekend, with Santa coming one die short of an Ultimate on his second turn, but still hitting Krampus with 6 undefendable damage from Holly Jolly and loading up on both Cheer and Egg Nog! Krampus hit back with Misbehaving for 7 and drew a Gift, so the score is now 37 to 35 in Santa's favor, with Santa's next attack roll pictured above.
What should Santa's next move be?

We'll be back soon with another update.

Krampus' Rejects Coloring Page! Revealed: Winter Soldiers! The BGG Battle Continues!
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Jul 09, 2022 at 07:45:02 PM

TL;DR: Promo reveal - Winter Soldiers minion. Vote for Krampus' response to Santa's attack on Boardgamegeek. Coloring page for Krampus' Rejects below.

Introducing the next revealed Minion from the Santa's Workshop promo pack: the Winter Soldiers!

Beware - they're heavily armed.

As a reminder, Santa's Workshop is designed to work with Dice Throne Adventures, and will be included free of charge as a bonus to all backers who select at least the Battle Box in the pledge manager.

These cards are not used in standard (competitive) gameplay, but experienced players are free to add the Mythic cards to their decks as a way to add some extra spice to their battles.

On The Second Day of Dice Throne Christmas, Krampus Gave To Me:

A 5, 1, 5, 4, and 3!

In the first round, the fans voted for Santa to go for Reindeer Games (the large straight), and he got it on his first roll, loading up with Cheer and Egg Nog and hitting Krampus for 7!

Krampus' defense gained him a Gift. Krampus spent the Gift to draw Squishy, then rolled the above dice on his first attack roll.
What should Krampus' next move be?

CLICK HERE to help decide the fate of Christmas!

We know from the Marvel Dice Throne campaign that a lot of Throners have kids who love to color - and that some of the adults are pretty good artists too! So how could we do a Christmas-themed campaign without giving people a coloring page? (Spoiler: we couldn't.) So break out your crayons, markers, pencil crayons, or software - we'd love to see *your* take on Krampus' cute but dangerous Rejects in the Dice Throne Community!

The reveals for Santa's Workshop reveals will continue through the weekend! Our team will be checking in when we can, but official responses may be slow until we're back in the office on Monday.

Have a great weekend, all!

We're Battling On BoardGameGeek! Promo Recap, plus Save the Children Partnership
almost 2 years ago – Fri, Jul 08, 2022 at 05:48:55 AM

We're playing out a game on Boardgamegeek! Link below. Promo recap: Throwing Canes, Throwing Canes II. Dice Throne is proud to announce our partnership with Save the Children, details below.

The next big reveals from Santa's Workshop Promo Pack are here! Feast your eyes:

Warning: playing these on opponents may cause serious cane reactions.
You don't want to join in any of THESE reindeer games!

On the first day of Dice Throne Christmas, Santa gave to me:

A 6, 5, 1, 4, and 3!

Over the course of the campaign, we've decided to actually play through a duel between Santa and Krampus over at BoardGameGeek! Kira's going to roll the dice for us - but we're going to ask YOU to make our decisions!

Santa's first roll includes a couple of abilities already - but he has two rerolls left. Should he use them to try to increase his small straight to a large? Go for Festivities? Increase the number of Axes? Head over to BoardGameGeek to register your vote now.

The fate of Christmas is in your hands!

In The Spirit Of Giving

Dice Throne is proud to be announcing our partnership with Save the Children.

Save the Children does whatever it takes to be there for children in crisis – as they have for every major humanitarian crisis since World War I. Always at the ready, they are among the first to respond and the last to leave, staying as long as it takes to help children and families recover from their losses, restore their lives and build resilience for years to come. When children around the world are in danger of physical and emotional harm, when they’re caught in an acute or prolonged crisis or conflict, when a disaster causes them to lose their homes and everything they cherish, Save the Children is there to help. Through the use of their Children’s Emergency Fund (CEF), a source of flexible funding, they are able to respond immediately whenever and wherever children need help. Currently, they are responding to areas such as Ukraine, Afghanistan, Haiti, Yemen, Syria, and other places around the world.

During this campaign, Dice Throne will donate  $1 per backer from non-Kickstarter money to Save the Children CEF. The more people who back this campaign, the more money Dice Throne will donate, so help spread the word.

(*Persons backing this Kickstarter are not making direct donations to Save the Children. Dice Throne is making donations from non-Kickstarter money for every backer during this campaign)

If you wish to donate directly to Save the Children, or if you wish to find out more about the organization. follow this link.

We'll be back soon with the next update!
