almost 2 years ago – Fri, Jul 08, 2022 at 01:04:09 AM

TL;DR - Livestream at 5EST, 2PST with Becca Scott! Promo reveals below! THANK YOU ALL for funding us on the first day!

THANK YOU.

Once again, we're humbled and overwhelmed by the level of support from you, the Dice Throne fans.

The campaign has already smashed its goal half a dozen times over, and is up to 3600 backers and still going strong. This really does feel like Christmas in July for us, and we're so grateful that you make it possible for us to keep making Dice Throne, and to keep making it awesome.

What's To Come

Every day, throughout the campaign, we'll be revealing one new Loot or Minion card from the Santa's Workshop Promo Pack for use with Dice Throne Adventures! This pack is included as a free add-on for every pledge for the Santa v Krampus Battle Box, and at every pledge level above it. There may be one or two other small cool reveals planned too, so #StayTuned, and check back often! :)

Our planned update schedule is to be here with new information for you Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but we may join you with additional updates if we have special news to bring!

Our team will be regularly checking in on the comments to answer your questions during business hours (and when we can find time, outside of them). An FAQ has been added for the project, and we will be updating it throughout the campaign with more of the most common questions.

We always appreciate those of you who take the time to support and help each other out with these answers too. Thanks for spreading a little of that Christmas cheer!

JOIN US TODAY! At 5 PM EST, 2 PM PST, for live coverage from the Good Time Society, starring Becca Scott (formerly seen as The Gunslinger)!

Always make sure cookies are enabled before playing this.

Let's start the reveals off deliciously, with a Cookie Exchange! Help out your fellow heroes with some extra Health, that that naughty Minion didn't really need.

As an added bonus, our first update's promo reveal is going to be a double!

(Naughty Throne sold separately)

What The Heck Is "Nice Throne"?

Nice Throne is an alternative way to play Dice Throne Adventures, that provides a slightly easier entry level to the game for those who want it.

We love Dice Throne Adventures exactly as it is. It can be challenging and filled with surprising interactions, with First Strike minions, and powerful King’s Hand tokens. That engaging difficulty is very rewarding and we wouldn’t change that for anything... but sometimes we play with people new to the game, or with our kids, for whom Dice Throne Adventures can feel too punishing. We wanted Nice Throne to be a way to take a little of the edge off of the coop campaign, for those who prefer a more casual, easygoing game experience.

How Does It Work?

Let's explore the few small ways we’ve taken some of the bite out of DTA:

- The group may collectively pay 2CP to remove First Strike from a Minion. First Strike minions can be scenario altering encounters. They’re fun and dynamic, but can sometimes sneak up on a hero. In this mode, you will have the option to pay a small fee to the Mad King to force that sneaky minion to wait it’s turn.

- Salves now remove all negative status effects when used to revive a hero when their health is reduced to zero. Many have requested this small tweak, which will go a long way in helping new players to regroup after getting knocked down.

- Removing King’s Hand tokens. This feels like cheating, but the Mad King started it, by giving these nasty tokens to his minions and bosses. Now with these buggers gone you can feel freer to chase the most satisfying Ultimates, and know that your Helping Hand might very well save the day.

- The scoring is lower for this difficulty level, but that only makes sense. Nice Throne is about enjoying your jaunt through the Mad King’s domain. Enjoy!

We still stand by our original game design. Can it feel punishing? Sure! But you can't expect traversing the Crimson Sands and attempting to take down a Mad Tyrant who has commanded his domain for 1000 years to be easy!

We'll be back soon with the next update.

 Keep Rollin' Sixes,

- Gavan, Nate, Manny, Aaron & Team Roxley
